After the game, they showered, dressed and was gone from the storage space before the media entered. Keeping an eye on’s response to everything Jones was a story, a story Manning chose they would not add to on this day.

However on the field, Manning was in that spot, helping Jones at each break in the activity, and a short time later, Manning was there to offer an embrace and grin for the new kid on the block.

“It’s a start to something new,” recipient Russell Shepard said. “Can you imagine being in your first start and sitting next to a guy that’s done it for over 15 years and done it at a very high level? That had to be very reassuring for Dan.”

For whatever length of time that there are no hard sentiments from Manning, mentor Pat Shurmur has set up the perfect situation for Jones.

The Giants permitted 28 in the principal half and just three in the subsequent half, yet there was no significant change in how the resistance arranged.

“I think it was the sense of urgency,’’ wellbeing Antoine Bethea said. “I think it’s crazy that it was the same guys out there, but it was two completely different halves. I think we came out in the second half with a completely different sense of urgency. It was just tighter coverage and guys were doing their job a little bit more.”
